Course 101
Understanding the Impact of Prejudice & Race

Designed to touch both the head and the heart, program participants significantly change their attitudes and beliefs regarding racial prejudice and racism. The results are far-reaching and long lasting.

Though subjects such as prejudice and racism can be emotionally charged for some participants, this program is an excellent program for teambuilding, fostering closer working relationships among participants.

Explores the causes of prejudice
Demonstrates how prejudices become institutionalized and how each of us is impacted.
Stereotypes, the software of our mind
Examines how our prejudices foster stereotypes which shape our thinking and emotional reactions towards other ethnic groups.
Discrimination
Demonstrates what happens when people act out their racial conditioning.
Destruction of other cultures
Shows the danger of institutionalized prejudice and how it can foster attempts to destroy other groups of people.
Internalized oppression
Shows how those groups targeted by discrimination may come to devalue themselves and people in their group.

Information is presented in small increments in diverse and interesting ways. Participants are then assisted in understanding the new information through two simple processes, the Art of Listening and Large Group Consultations.
